And my answer is yes of course there is a way. We can convert http based direct download links into Torrents for easier downloading. Torrent files have the capability to pause and resume without breaking in between.
URLHash – Create torrents from direct http links
URLHash is an online service that creates torrent files from direct download links. Insert the file URL in URLHash, solve the captcha and press Create .torrent button. That’s all you have to do, and URLHash will take some time to create the torrent file for you. Here are a few restrictions for URLHash:
The http link should be a direct download link. There should be no redirection or authentication. The file size should be more than 10 MB.
Here is how to convert http links to torrents easily: Please note that if your file is large, it will take some time for urlhash to create the torrent link. The page will refresh itself multiple times until the torrent is created successfully. If the file torrent already exists in their database, the torrent file will be created instantly. Please note that the site only supports http and not on https secure connection. You may warn that the page opened is not secure. Just ignore it and open the page. As an example, I created a torrent file for Windows Server 2022 direct download link and it took at least 2 to 3 minutes to generate the link, because the ISO file size was 5.2 GB.
Create a magnet link for the torrent
If you have used urlhash.com, you should have noticed that apart from the .torrent file link, you will receive the following additional information:
InfohashMD5SHA256
From there, infohash can be of interest to us as it can be used to create a magnet link out of the torrent file. Here’s how to create a magnet link from infohash: This will generate a magnet link that can be opened for any BitTorrent client to start downloading the file. The magnet link can be useful as you get a direct link to the torrent instead of downloading the torrent file.
